ABOUT US

More Than a Sport, It's a Movement

GET TO KNOW US

The Uganda Gymnastics Federation (UGF) is the official governing body for the sport of gymnastics in Uganda. Our journey traces back to the 1960s and 70s, when gymnastics thrived in schools under the beloved “Gymnastics Hour.” After years of inactivity, the sport was revived in 2013 and formally organized in 2019 with the establishment of the first executive board. In 2023, the Federation underwent a full transformation—rebranding under the National Sports Act as UGF to reflect a new era of professionalism, inclusivity, and global alignment. Today, UGF is dedicated to developing and promoting a wide range of gymnastics disciplines including Artistic, Rhythmic, Aerobic, Acrobatic, Trampoline, Parkour, Rope Skipping, and Gymnastics for All. We work with schools, clubs, communities, and international bodies to nurture talent, build capacity, and create inclusive pathways for athletes, coaches, and enthusiasts across Uganda. With a strong foundation and clear vision, we aim to elevate Ugandan gymnastics to the global stage.

The Revival & Foundation

Dream Rekindled

The spirit of gymnastics was reignited in 2013 by passionate individuals and communities. By 2017, formalization efforts began, and in 2019, the first recognized executive board of the Gymnastics Association of Uganda was formed—marking the sport’s official return.
