On 12 and 13th September 2025, Elizabeth Aath Aanyu and Ibrahim Ocira, participated in workshops organised by Athlete 365|Career+ and the International Olympic Committee.
On 9 – 10 September 2025, Uganda Gymnastics Federation (UGF) participated in its first online Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) judging course, hosted by the African Union of Gymnastics (UAG).
Rakib Abdul Fedha, Uganda’s rising parkour sensation, made history by clinching the gold medal in the speed category at the Bosphorus Parkour Cup in Istanbul, Türkiye, becoming the first Ugandan ever to do so.
Gymnastics Instructor 1 Course — Building a Strong Foundation Nationwide Introduction The Gymnastics Association of Uganda (GAU) marked a major step in developing grassroots gymnastics with its Gymnastics Instructor 1 Course, bringing together over 25 Physical Education teachers from across the country. This initiative aimed to equip educators with essential coaching skills to foster gymnastics at the school level. Why This Event Mattered Gymnastics plays a pivotal role in the Ugandan Physical Education curriculum, serving as one of the most comprehensive sports for developing motor skills such as balance, coordination, and flexibility. These foundational skills help children excel in other sports and in daily life. Event Highlights Practical Sessions: Hands-on training in fundamental gymnastics techniques Theory Lessons: Covering rules, safety, and athlete development pathways. Collaboration: Networking among teachers from different regions. Talent Identification Identifying potential young athletes to nurture. On the 30th and 31st of August 2025, the Uganda Gymnastics Federation was proud to participate in an online judging course in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics [MAG] for Africa. We had a total of 23 Ugandan coaches, Physical Education teachers and Athletics trainers in attendance.
